Everything happens for a reason, nothing happens on purpose. When you lose everything it always starts something new. Bad things happen to good people for a lot of reasons. Losing someone or something important, being lonely, being put down by someone, doesn’t mean it’s going to be the end of the world. There will always be a brighter side to everything that happens. Everyone has meaning and is unique in their own way. Trying to be like someone is else is stupid, always be yourself you were born the way you were for a reason. Initially, one can learn many lessons from, The Land of Stories by Chris colfer including these three; don’t let the past affect you, don’t let anyone put you down, and don’t put yourself in a hole. The Land of Stories has many examples of different themes to the lesson.
First and foremost, one could learn many lesson from, The Land of Stories by the known actor from Glee, Chris Colfer including, not letting the past affect you or your own future. In The Land of Stories, the writes on page 30, “A year ago, just a few days before their eleventh birthday, Alex and Conner’s father died in a car accident on his way home from work.”. The evidence that was provided explains, how bad things happen to amazing people, but you still have to go through it. People’s death affect their loved ones, and anyone that truly cared about that person. It happens to everyone and everything eventually. No matter what what you cannot let the past affect you. Everybody has to stay strong and keep their head up no matter what happens to you, a loved one, family, or even your pets, no matter how sad it is everyone's and everything has to fight it no matter how much pain one is going through, or how much it hurts.

The author writes about Alex’s struggles with being lonely, “She constantly heard other girls making fun of her behind her back. She usually spent lunch alone under a tree somewhere with an open library book. Although she would never tell anyone, Alex was so lonely that sometimes it hurts.” (Colfer p. 15) Obviously, being lonely could hurt many people, or things. Having ‘friends’ or being “popular” most of the time want make people happy, you cannot force happiness you have to learn how to make it all on your own. You do not need people to make yourself happy. In the end who's going to be there for you? You. Always keep your head up and ignore what others say or think about you.

They missed him so much sometimes that they expected their sadness to swell out of their bodies.” (Colfer p. 32) People’s death’s hurt everyone but you have to be able to pull through it. You cannot go to your room or another room and just stay there crying, you have to keep going and deal with it. It hurts a lot but you have to try to the past be the past and not just stay there crying or thinking a lot about the whole tragedy Everyone goes through something terrible and everyone goes through something amazing, but everyone stay happy, and strong throughout everything.
