The Dark ForestA small gingerbread house sat in between two large trees. White frosting covered its painted roof, gumdrops lined like the path to the front door like a picket fence. (p.112) There is a gingerbread house in the Dark Forest with a hunchback witch that lives in it, which is now a vegetarian. The Dark Forest is where outlaws go so they won’t be found. It is full of thick dark trees and a lot of bushes. There are dangerous wolves seeking in the dark forest for prey. Some that feel like they don't belong in the kingdoms go to hide out and stay away from people.

The Northern KingdomThe Northern Kingdom was a very misty and cool; the twins could tell it was the type of place that would become freezing in the winter. The kingdom was covered with grassy fields and several bodies of water. An icy, steep mountain range bordered the north. (p. 298) The kingdom is ruled by the beautiful Queen Snow White and her husband. The Northern Kingdom is the biggest kingdom in The Land of Stories. Which also has the biggest land. The kingdom was an isolated world of its own. It seemed very lonely, no villages were spread out over the land, no towns, stores, nothing. All of the towns, villages, and stores were all close to each other.

The Sleeping KingdomThe Northern tip of the Sleeping Kingdom was an ugly and vacant place. It was known for its bare trees, bumpy paths, and dangerously high cliffs. Small stones were scattered on the earth, making it nearly impossible to travel by carriage. Even though it rained every so often, nothing ever grew, making it impossible for any animals to live there.(p. 151) Most of the Sleeping Kingdom is like this dry and ugly all because of Queen Sleeping Beauty put under a curse by an evil witch. This curse made her kingdom become so dull and dark. The evil queen that put the curse under Queen Sleeping Beauty ruined her kingdom, and hurt her people that live in the kingdom. It is very cure. It rains very often but nothing seems to grow back, it just stays dry, as if the sun is thirsty and drinks all the water that rains down in The Sleeping Kingdom.
